 THREE MORE UPCOMING BOOKS:

It occurred to me that I have three more books that don't show up on this site, one completed, one in the works for eight years so far, and one that I've only submitted to my publisher as a proposal (but a darn good one, in my opinion!)

The completed book (other than final editing) has nothing to do with hunting or animal rights, but it is a HIGHLY spiritual book about my own profession and some of the abuses that are occurring there, and in fact in medicine in general. I call it "Blind Ambition: A Novel." It is basically complete and ready for publication, when I get time to shop it around.

The one I've been working on for so many years is to be called "Another Rifle, Another Land." I'm using the same Remington 7mm Ultramag rifle to take some 72 Eurasian species, as many as possible from native habitat, and I currently have 64. If China reopens to hunting, I should go there next fall and be in Iran finishing the last hunting for the book at this time next year. I've completed all the stories of the 64 hunts (I write them within 24 hours of completing a hunt), plus a biographical profile of each featured species, along with hunting and other information. It will be full color and will contain hundreds of photos I've taken over the years, plus some wonderful photos taken by my Russian guide, Sergei Tishkovich. The format will be similar to "One Man, One Rifle, One Land," for those familiar with this book. The accompanying photo (kind of small and far above at left) is my European moose from Belarus, which will be featured in the book. I have now taken 103 free-ranging big game species without hunting Africa, and all of them with the same rifle (again), and I believe I may be the only person in history to take more than 100 such animals. So far I've hunted 26 countries for this book, with a final figure of about 30 expected.

The proposal I've submitted to Safari Press is for a final book in the "Ask the Guides" series, to be called "Ask the Wild Sheep and Goat Guides." The economic downturn has most publishers being a little tentative about doing new titles, and this one is being held up for this reason for the time being. I already have a list of quite a number of qualified North American guides to interview when the time comes.

Hopefully you'll see all of these in time. God bless and thanks for looking in.
J.Y.
