I also did several cataract operations at the request of my hosts. Some unique things happened, as well. I was given my first ride in a Rolls Royce owned by a local businessman (I operated on his father), and drank a glass of wine of vintage 1913 (my first and only opportunity like this--it costs $10,000 a bottle!).
